Proved the major oxidation of substates in the interfacial boundary layer of ferrihydrite in the heterogeneous Fenton process with the aid of kinetic and reactive-transport modelling. Investigated the nature of reactive species including hydroxyl radical and weak oxidant formed in the heterogeneous Fenton process.

Natural Science Foundation of China (03/2015-05/2017)

Developed a novel catalytic strategy of dioxygen activation by structural Fe(II) combined with Cu(II). Was one of the major participants in the proposal writing for this project application of Natural Science Foundation of China.

Natural Science Foundation of China (09/2014-10/2015)

Combining an environmentally-benign complexing agent GLDA with pyrite-induced Fenton-like reactions. Investigated the overlooked threefold roles of sulphur in pyrite-induced Fenton reaction.
